Move request
[edit]According to the license text, images from the Yorck project are released under GFDL, not PD-Art. Bibi Saint-Pol (sprechen) 12:03, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
- The individual media have expired copyright. *All* members of the collection together (the database) has a GFDL copyright. I
Oppose this move request, as it is incorrect. Siebrand 07:57, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
Oppose Siebrand is right. --Vlado 15:16, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
Changing the automatic categorization of PD-Art-YorckProject medias
[edit]I have made Category:PD-Art (Yorck Project) a sub-cat of Category:The Yorck Project. Therefore I am removing the line [[Category:The Yorck Project]] from this template. Feel free to revert if I'm wrong. — Xavier, 12:25, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
Name change
[edit]The name of the company has changed from "The Yorck Project Gesellschaft für Bildarchivierung gmbH" ("The Yorck Project") to "Zenodot Verlagsgesellschaft mbH" ("Zenodot"). I don't know if this has to be reflected in the name of this template, at least I changed the URL in the template. --Vlado 15:20, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
Link to mail of permission
[edit]Could the link to the permission mail ([http://mail.wikipedia.org/pipermail/wikide-l/2005-April/012195.html]) be included in this template, instead of having to add (or deplace) it manually on each picture concerned ? --Hsarrazin (talk) 21:54, 7 March 2013 (UTC)
This template is categorizing all files into Category:PD-Art (PD-old-70)
[edit]It's incorrect for this template to add Category:PD-Art (PD-old-70) because this is not a PD-Art license, and may very well accompany PD-Art templates that are not PD-old-70.
This appears to be due to a failure to pass "Yorck Project" as a parameter to {{PD-art-category}}. The fix for that would be to replace {{PD-art-category|PD-Art|{{{1|}}}}}
with {{PD-art-category|PD-Art|Yorck Project}}
.
However, I wonder if Category:PD-Art (Yorck Project) and this template should actually be named that, given that the template is not a PD-Art license and really has no way to know if {{PD-Art}} is being used alongside or not (and certainly in many cases it is not). Perhaps it should instead just be renamed to Category:Files from the Yorck Project and {{PD-YorckProject}}?
Side notes:
- I've been over all the files containing this template with a script, and none of the uses are passing any parameters to it.
- Every file in Category:PD-Art (Yorck Project) is currently being placed there by {{Yorck}} or in one case by hand.
- There are a couple thousand files with {{PD-Art-YorckProject}} and not {{Yorck}} which are, therefore, not being placed in Category:PD-Art (Yorck Project).

- @BMacZero: If you're going to work on this, split up the source and the copyright status. Mixing the two was a mistake.
- Create a new source template, see Commons:Partnership templates for some examples. Replace this template with the new template AND a PD template. You probably need to do that in several rounds to not get a lot of different PD templates on the page. In the end, redirect or delete this template and remove the categorization from {{Yorck}}.
- I can help. Multichill (talk) 21:30, 25 February 2025 (UTC)
